Do I need a backrest?

Not neccessarily! The majority of people in good health do not require a back rest. After using a Swopper for a while you probably won't even notice whether you have a backrest or not. On traditional chairs you'll need a backrest as you are sitting static on one position. On a Swopper you are keeping your back active and using your muscles to support your own back. However we do offer two styles of backrest for people who prefer to have one or require one due to a serious back problem. With the majority of Swopper models you can add a backrest later on. Please check at time of ordering.

Why do I have some aches and pains after sitting on the Swopper?

When you first starting using a Swopper you may notice that you get muscle twinges now and again or a few minor aches. This is a good sign and is a sign that muscle groups that were previously underused are starting to take over looking after your back. Adjust to using your new Swopper gradually. If you experience any pain, swing about and gently move your back- this increases supply of blood to the muscles and encourages the removal of waste substances from the muscles. If you can feel the base of your spine this means you have been sitting down for too long. Get up and move around.

How do I clean the seat cover?

Alcantara fabric covers can be cleaned by using just water and soapsuds and a clean cloth. leave to dry and brush with a soft brush. Do not use chlorinated detergents. More detailed instructions will be sent with your order. Softex covers can be cleaned using a damp cloth and/or a product containing normal ammonia content. Leather - Swopper leather is tanned, chrome free and its colours come from natural vegetable dyes. Use a damp cloth, then rub down with a dry,clean cloth. Treat with leather care products. Stamskin - wipe with lukewarm water. If required use a soft brush and lukewarm soapy water. there is no need to disinfect. Do not use leather care products, stain removers or solvents.

Does the seat cover come in other colours?

Seat covers come in a range of beautiful colours from the Alcantara fabric range. Alcantara is a highly presitigious and very high quality fabric used in fashion, car upholstery and contract interior design. You can choose from the range of colours shown on the website. We welcome enquiries from coporate customers who may require their own colours or designs.

Is the Swopper like sitting on an exercise ball?

Compared to an exercise ball, sitting on the "swopper" has the following advantages: The "swopper" is safer: it won’t roll away, it can’t burst, you can’t fall over or fall off. What is the warranty period?

Three years. Faulty Swoppers will be repaired or replaced free of charge during this period - provided that no third party has been responsible for any damage or fault.

Are they stable enough?

Swopper chairs are designed to encourage you to move around. To ensure you don't fall off we advise you to use the chair with care until you get used to it, keep your feet flat on the ground and supervise children when using the chair. The chair has a large stable base ring and you can adjust the sideways movement to suit you. Do not use the chair to stand on. Movement is good!
